Health & Safety Reminders

Global_Handwashing_Day_(emblem)Hi everyone,

There are many cold, flu-like and stomach bugs making the rounds this season, so here are a few reminders to help keep your family, and the other RYRNS families and teachers healthy.
1.  Do not send your child to school if any of the following occur: vomiting, diarrhea, fever, contagious viruses, pinkeye, or any infections (ear, throat etc.)
2.  Thank you to everyone who has been notifying me of your children’s illnesses/absences!  I can’t always reply (I receive a lot of messages!), but please know I’m reading your messages and passing the information onto the teachers.  Please continue to notify me of illness and other absences at the email no later than 8:45 (earlier whenever possible). When necessary, illness related information will be shared with the RYRNS community but families will not be identified.
3. Practicing good hand hygiene is one of the most important steps to avoid getting sick and spreading germs.

Here’s how to scrub those germs away. Teach this routine to your kids — or better yet, wash your hands together often so they learn how important this good habit is:
– Wash your hands in warm water.
– Use soap and lather up for about 20 seconds
– Rinse and dry well with a clean towel.
To minimize the germs passed around your family, make regular hand washing a rule for everyone, especially:
– before eating and cooking
– after using the bathroom
– after cleaning around the house
– after touching animals, including family pets
– before and after visiting or taking care of any sick friends or relatives
– after blowing one’s nose, coughing, or sneezing
– after being outside (playing, gardening, walking the dog, etc.)

Thank you all for helping to keep RYRNS healthy!
Take care,
